The Department Environmental Social Sciences is offering a Scientific Assistant Position (80%) within the strategic inter- and transdisciplinary research program Wings. The program strives to develop novel non-grid-connected water and sanitation systems that can function as comparable alternatives to network-based systems. The position supports the program leader and the Wings team in: (1) the identification of synergies across individual research projects, (2) the facilitation of inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration and integration within the program and beyond, (3) the organization of retreats, workshops, conferences (both nationally and internationally), and (4) the financial and administrative management of the program.

The Sustainable Agroecosystems (SAE) Group and the Transdisciplinarity Lab (TdLab) are looking for a Post-Doctoral Researcher who will be one of the key personnel for the implementation of the project titled «The rural-urban nexus: Establishing a nutrient loop to improve city region food system resilience» (RUNRES). RUNRES focuses on developing rural to urban food value chain and waste recycling solutions to generate improved resource flows from the rural to the urban and back to the rural areas to improve the resilience of rural-urban food systems. The Postdoctoral Fellow will lead project science activities and oversee the implementation of transdisciplinary innovation platforms in Arba Minch, Ethiopia; Bukavu, DRC; Kamonyi, Rwanda; Msunduzi, South Africa.
