INTERNATIONAL TRANSDISCIPLINARITY CONFERENCE 2017


The International Transdisciplinarity Conference in 2017 is co-organised by Leuphana University Lüneburg, Germany and the Network for Transdisciplinary Research of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences. It is taking place on September 11-15, 2017 at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
The overall objective of the conference is to strengthen communities of transdisciplinary research and education, and to create visibility for theoretical, empirical and transformative advances/results. We invite contributions from all fields and research cultures. We particularly welcome submissions that address interculturality and contributions from transdisciplinary teams.

The call for contributions is now closed, but poster abstracts can still be submitted.

SWISS INTER- AND TRANSDISCIPLINARITY DAY 2016


HOW TO DEVELOP A SUCCESSFUL INTER- AND TRANSDISCIPLINARY PROPOSAL
Bringing together researchers' and funders' perspectives



Jointly organised by the University of Lucerne and td-net, the Swiss Inter- and Transdisciplinarity Day 2016 attracted no less than 70 participants. Throughout the Conference, which took place at the University of Lucerne on 7 November 2016, researchers and representatives of funding agencies shared their experiences and described their approaches and challenges of inter- and transdisciplinary research projects, especially in their framing phase. Examples were presented from projects funded by the Sustainable Development at Universities Programme and from an open call.

TRANSDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH WORKSHOP

Together with biology17the annual Swiss conference on ecology, evolution, systematics and conservation, td-net organises a workshop which will present predominant definitions of transdisciplinarity, look at the conceptual challenges that come along with this approach to scientific research and introduce practical tools to tackle them.

«swiss-academies award for transdisciplinary research 2015»

EPFL-based ‹Green Density› project wins coveted CHF 50,000 science award. Furthermore, two young scientists working at the University of Geneva and the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology receive CHF 10,000 awards for their respective transdisciplinary investigations. Professor Marcel Tanner, former Director of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, is honoured for his abiding commitment to interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in the sciences.
